Dear IRSA members,
The college has recently released an Interventional Radiology white paper for consultation link here
This is an important document as this details the college’s plans for IR moving forwards in Australia and New Zealand.
IRSA encourages members to read the document and to provide feedback either to the college directly, IRSA or both.
The IRSA executive will be formulating a response to the white paper in due course.

Paclitaxel coated balloons IRSA Statement
ATTENTION IRSA MEMBERS
IRSA would like to draw members attention to a recently published meta-analysis on paclitaxel drug coated balloons, which has raised some controversy in the use of these devices.

IRSA are pleased to announce the release of the exciting preliminary program for the 2019 Annual Scientific meeting in Uluru.
The meeting will commence on Tuesday 9th July following the EBIR exams on the 8th/9th. The meeting concludes on Thursday 11th July.
Accommodation is limited so we would encourage all members to register as soon as possible.

CIRSE invites all young IRs, who have completed their undergraduate medical degree not later than 8 years ago and are currently in postgraduate training, to attend CIRSE 2019 free of charge. In order for a trainee/resident to be eligible to apply for this support programme, he/she has to submit an abstract as a first or presenting author for CIRSE 2019 by February 11.
